Hotel Review: A Luxurious Family-Friendly Stay in Central London

No Ten Hotel London

After living in London for over 10 years and Lilah having spent the first months of her life there, we try to visit the capital as much as we can as a family. I think it’s really important for Lilah to feel at home in this wonderful city. Our most recent trip was at the beginning of June, when we were lucky enough to stay at the No.Ten Manchester Street Hotel in Marylebone.

No Ten Manchester Street Hotel Room

Hotel Summary:  No. Ten Manchester Street Hotel is a completely charming Edwardian townhouse which boasts many of its original period features. Comprising of 44 boutique style bedrooms, the hotel is located in the heart of tranquil Marylebone Village.

Check-In: Upon arrival, we were greeted by the front of house staff who kindly took our bags and helped us with Lilah’s stroller up the stairs. The receptionist took our details, confirmed our afternoon tea booking and directed us to our room on the fifth floor.

The Room: Our junior suite was a pleasant and spacious surprise. My past experiences with central London hotels have involved tiny box rooms where you can practically jump straight from your bed into the bathroom! The luxurious suite that greeted us was far from that. The large room was separated into a lounge and sleeping area by a room divider that had a large flatscreen TV on either side complete with SKY TV (movies and entertainment included!), absolutely perfect for families!

Lilah had her own little bed set up in the lounge area. She had her very own mini dressing gown and slippers as well as some Peppa Pig treats which she was super excited about! The colouring book also kept her occupied (and quiet!) for half an hour which was an added bonus 🙂

Tea and coffee making facilities were available for use in the room as well as a HANDY smartphone, allowing complimentary local and international calls as well as internet access.

Afternoon Tea: After settling into our room we headed down to the sophisticated hotel Italian restaurant, Dieci, on the ground floor for our Afternoon Tea booking. We devoured an array of delicious sandwiches, macarons, chocolates and even a plate of freshly made scones with cream and jams. The waitresses that served us were very friendly and helpful throughout and paid special attention to Lilah, which always goes down very well 😉

Sleep: We all had a fantastic sleep at the hotel after an exhausting day and evening exploring London. The mattress was super comfortable and there was plenty of room to escape from a certain someone’s snoring!

Location: I hadn’t spent much time in Marylebone previous to our visit, but was pleasantly surprised by the area. Marylebone high-street is flooding with restaurants and local boutique shops, just a 5-minute stroll from the hotel.  The nearest tube stations are Marylebone (Bakerloo line) and Baker Street, both within a 10 to 15-minute walk from the hotel. Oxford Street is also a short walk away for all the best high-street shops and restaurants.

Favourite Bits: The layout of the room! We loved the fact that there was a room division and Lilah had her own area and TV! It really helped give us our own space, which can sometimes be very difficult when you’re stuck in a hotel room together.

Room Rates: Room rates start from £220 per room per night, including VAT.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at No Ten and would definitely recommend it to families and couples looking for a stay in central London.

I love the flat screen designed in the middle wall that also acts like a divider. It’s awesome. I also love the clean and modern look. I haven’t been to London or Europe for that matter, by I do have a time share with points. I can use my points to go to Europe, now I have to take the time off to visit. I’ll definitely keep this hotel in mind in case I don’t use my time share. 🙂
